SEARCH or BROWSE OUR RESOURCES
Discover Resources from Researchers and Organizations from around the World focused on Ending War and Making Peace
Welcome to the Better Evidence Project’s Resource Center. You may search through scholarly articles, research reports, policy briefs, government reports, databases, case studies, organizational studies and monographs, and impact assessments and project evaluations. These curated materials have been produced by local and international organizations that work in conflict-affected societies as well as Government institutions and by scholars and researchers. The resources are selected because they highlight ideas and provide evidence for reducing the cost of conflict by increasing effective peacebuilding and war prevention strategies.
Each document in the Resource Center is an open source and full-text searchable in the following ways:
- Many of the resources are pdf documents selected and curated by the Better Evidence Project research team.
- A large group of resources are accessed through the web sites of partner organizations (e.g., the Alliance for Peacebuilding’s Eirene Data Base). The Better Evidence Project’s search engine is capable of a full-text search of the resources collected elsewhere.
- There is a much smaller subset of resources that are stored as links or url’s. Those are usually, but not always full-text searchable. Because internet links can change over time, the BEP team endeavors to include all resources as pdfs.
- Searchable terms — Each resource is coded with key search terms that reflect its key themes. All items are coded with meta data. This includes up to 25 key terms relevant to the resource’s subject matter as well as geographic and/or conflict location data as relevant. We have created a list of key terms at this link to help narrow your search but most items can be searched via full-text.
- Resource Type —Organized by type of resource (monograph, government report, policy brief, academic research, etc.)
- Author, title, and/or sponsoring institution. The search engine reviews meta data that is unique to each entry—such meta data includes subject matter, author, sponsoring organization, title, date of publication, etc.
The search result will either be a pdf of the actual document or resource the result will be a link to the pdf of that document or resource.
